Filmmaker Lydia Nibley greeted a packed house on Saturday, November 21, when her film Two Spirits had its world premiere at the Starz Denver Film Festival.
Over 500 people lined up to fill the theater at the King Center on the Auraria Campus for the premiere of the much-anticipated film about the murder of Fred C. Martinez, a Navajo teen who was murdered in 2001 in Cortez, Colorado. All indications are that Martinez was murdered due to his gender identity and expression. Pauline Mitchell, Fred Martinez’s mother, was also present at the screening.
